Xmas again!

Is it me or does christmas seem to arrive earlier every year? Xmas gifts were making an appearance long before the Halloween decorations entered the shops. And as for bonfire night...
As a kid I remember the joy of a stocking at the end of the bed, that was xmas in a nutshell for me. As for the pressies under the tree, sure I loved 'em too! But there was something truly magical about that bulging red stocking!

These days most kids don't bother whats in the stocking, instead, they want the all the latest gadgets, Wii, PS3, I-Pod, mobile phones, in other words, hundreds of pounds worth of xmas delight.

I blame the adverts. How many toy adverts are crammed on the TV? Neally as much as the programmes themselves. My daughters response to every sickly-sweet commercial is "Want that" and "I want that" never mind the bulging toy boxes in her wake.

Have we spoilt xmas?
Well someone has, and if you can give me their number I'd love to send them the bill!
